papercut

Sunday, 23rd Nov 2008

It's long since I've shot a drama concert. And TP's dramatec is pretty impressive, especially the scriptwriter. 3 subplots beautifully interwoven into one main plot. Presenting a story of treachery, murders and the death..

IMG_7288 In the first subplot of a scheming housewife, her domestic worker must be my favourite character. She's just.. so maid!

IMG_7314 No, ma'am. Cannot ma'am.

IMG_7316 Maid with a secret

IMG_7319 Second subplot about rising sweet young thing with a chi-ko-pei director.

IMG_7330 The scheming diva.

IMG_7374 You betrayed me!

After looking at these pics on my laptop, I realised my 70-200mm is SO MUCH LOVE! Even in such low lighting conditions and at f4, it can still produce relatively sharp photos! And Canon's noise reduction system is, without doubt, much love too! <3

Madagascar: escape 2 Africa

Sunday, 16th Nov 2008

10 reasons why you kids should ask your mummies to bring you to watch Madagascar: Escape to Africa:

1. If you love the first movie Madagascar.

2. If you love your monochromatic friends. (You'll love them more.)

3. If you are too stressed and need to laugh it out.

4. There are cute animals which don't seem to be hungry for each other's throat.

5. It teaches you that FAT is not necessary ugly.

6. It teaches you that love transcends all boundaries.

7. It teaches you about political system.

8. Ask your daddy along. There's nothing a father and son/daughter can't enjoy together.

9. You are one in a million..

10. If you gotta.. MOVE IT!

it's unbelievable!

Tuesday, 11th Tuesday 2008

I had a indoor studio shoot last Saturday at sakana's place..

THANKS TO MY DEAREST DAR DAR FOR HELPING ME CARRY THE STROBES ALL THE WAY FROM TP BACK HOME! *muacks*

And thanks to sakana and my sis who helped me carried the strobes too! I think I'm not gonna do this again coz the 2 strobes are freaking heavy!!!! (unless there I can invite the model into the darkroom and I do not have to move it around!)

I was actually quite worried about using the lights and how the pictures would turn out coz I have NEVER done a proper studio shoot before nor was educated the way of the lights. But Xystral assured me that this would be an experiment for both myself and herself.....

Nuff said, let's look at some of the photos from Saturday.. (Captions by xystral. Don't ask me to translate.. I don't know..)

この唄は歌ってはいけませんよ

There's this dark and creepy feeling she wanted to create.. I don't know if I did it.. But xrstal isn't the main focus here. She wanted to be in the shadow; to be partially seen.. I like the doll!

If you noticed, it's the same person cosplaying though there are 2 characters.. Yesh, xrystal double-cosed.. I took 2 separate photos of her in different costumes and she patched the 2 up. It was extremely hard when I had to imagine where the other "twin" would be in the composite photo and I had to take note of the exact lighting arrangement and camera settings so the lighting would be some what constant in the composite picture. (which I utterly failed! >-<)

And of coz, I have to marvel at xystral's awesome photoshop processing skills, especially the photo with ribbons and the "yin-yang" photo.. *kowtows*

coming soon

Sunday, 9th November 2008

I saw the trailer while catching another movie and got so excited!!!! Though The Da Vinci Code movie is such a disappointment, I see look forward to watching this one. I do hope they follow most of the details in the book this time. (especially the part after he jumped down from the helicopter and in the hospital!) I like the prequel more than Da Vinci itself. This is actually my favourite book from the Dan Brown series.

Watch the trailer on youtube!

Visit the official web too!

naruto!

Friday, 7th Nov 2008

This is way long overdue.. This was taken at Chinese Gardens some time ago.. Even before my school re-opened I think.. Presenting ahzu as Itachi, Valda as Kisame and Rara as Diedara..

Post-processing by ahzu, Photography by ahbu..

Valda soaked in a tub of blue paint overnight to get this effect.. NAH! She painted herself blue.. Some kids walked by and asked their mummy why was she blue.. haha..

Look at the "mouth"!

I guess only Itach fans would understand..

Valda looks uber scary!

I actually like this one! The pp of the sky is nice!

Ahzu and I spent quite some time achieving the effect we both agreed on for this pic and the next.. I hope it still comes across as having a misty feeling..

And finally "Saving Aoi" saves the day! She should seriously compile all her "Saving Aoi" pics.. LOL!

And... Ahbu shall go mug for ahbu's 2 quizzes next week.. zzz

Happy "Hell"oween!

Saturday, 1st Nov 2008

Dar and I went for Escape Theme Park's Halloween special yesterday. As he had a free ticket, it was 2 for the price of one. And were lucky it's only $5.50 each coz from 8-11pm (the "special" is only available from 7-11pm), we were only able to queue for 2 attractions/rides.. There were a freaking lot of people lahz! Well, at least we get to go into the Haunted House, which was the main attraction for Halloween..

IMG_5128 Entrance to the theme park was decorated to give an eerie feel!

IMG_5143 Mr Medusa! With a real snake!

IMG_5154 The centre stage was also decorated for the Dress-up competition! Nah, I didn't dress up.. Neither did Alfred..

IMG_5144 There were fire throwers too!

IMG_5157

IMG_5158

We took pictures with the mummies before we left.. I think this is a bit more worth it than Night Safari's Halloween though.. Coz it's much cheaper and it was much more into the Halloween mood (as in spread throughout the whole attraction itself)!
