Pride and Prejudice

When Shee Yong first sent me the email, I forwarded it to zx.. And sure enough.. She wanted to watch it.. Pride and Prejudice is like the love of her life (besides wei qi and ahbu =D)..
The ticket price was $25, of a simple design and it was free seating.. As compared to 黄城's ticket, it's more expensive and not that worth it.. Coz 黄城's tickets are creative and we are given seats! All I hope was that the standard is high and we get good seats..
As all typical JC students, the JC crowd of youngster supporting their friends at DBS Arts Centre left out the first 3 rows.. zx and I happily sat there..
The opening scene was beautiful and the costumes were appropriate (which made zx conclude that AC is rich).. When I was buying the tickets, Shee Yong told me he would be doing a small dance.. Well, he did not have any lines but he was seen at like every single dance scene throughout the play..
Looking at the finely dressed men in long tail coats, I sorta regretted going to aj.. ac has SO MUCH MORE charming gentlemen than aj lah! Can easily pawn aj's male population hands down.. haiz~ Who agrees with ahbu!?
And zx is one amazing creature.. She must have read the novel like a million times, she could mutter what the characters were gonna say next blah! Like OMG accurate.. Thanks to zx I got to appreciate the play more..
My favourite character would be Mrs Bennet.. It's interesting how she calls her husband Mr Bennet and go hysterical all the time.. Very cartoon and comical! A pity Mr Darcy forgot his lines too often.. But at least they were speaking in very standard English!
However, the development of the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy is not really brought out.. It could have also been better if the play had started at 7.30pm.. We would not need to rush to catch the midnight train.. -.-"
I love the finale's song- Ever Ever After from Enchanted.. (yesh, throughout the play they used pop music.. Some fitted in but some just didn't) Such a sweet and fairytale-like ending for this romantic play..
And yes, we write our own fairy tales.. Have you started on yours?

Btw, this is for my Free Hand Drawing CDS' s first assignment.. The grids are there so that we can draw proportionally.. Mr Chan actually asked us to draw 2 objects at home.. Alfred said I chose the wrong objects to draw; I could have chosen something simpler like a pencil and eraser.. BUT I DON'T CARE! I had to draw ahbu coz ahbu is shhooo cute! <3333

She was like posing then I suddenly commented that she look very businessman-ly.. Then I emphasized on the "MANNY" and she gave me that face and the finger.. And I spontaneously shot it! wahahaha.. Perfect candid!

Week 0
I have been rather busy recently shooting the school's orientation events.. First was ASc's campfire last Wednesday.. I regretted signing up coz it was rather boring and they tasked us with this most important and difficult job of taking class photos in this really dark Tembusu Grove.. They really think our flash guns can do wonders.. But thanks to the light from the swimming complex, this impossible task was somehow accomplished..
I quite like this photo.. I call it- "The Mythical Dance of the Fairies"
We took the group photos at this ulu corner where the stadium lights shone.. And while testing the lighting, we captured..

There.. No more orbs.. The tree really gives a surreal feeling like what Dickson said..
Well , that's all for ASc camp.. Moving on to TP Regetta! And also my maiden shoot with my 40D! Yesh, somehow I got a new camera.. Read my deviantart journal for more details..

There's a reason why the principal's (the principal's the one in white with a white cap) boat clenched top 3 every year.. Dickson said that they planted 2 dragon boaters at the back and they are so powerful that they can actually feel
the jerk.. But well they still lost to the alumni team..

Next was some wake-boarding stint by this 15-year-old girl who is not yet in TP but is confirmed in TP when she completes 'O' level.. You can easily see why..

After Regeatta, there was the Jam and Hop.. It's said to be the highlight of the orientation and I obviously skipped last year.. But I'm glad I skipped it.. It's a messy place full of _______ (fill in the blank).. And the music is too overwhelming..
Nevertheless, the lighting was perfect! I tried 2nd curtain flash too!

And Canon's noise reduction system helps.. =)

Ok, that's all! I didn't take much at Jam and Hop coz it's too taxing on my flash and ears.. So I left rather early..
And that, marks the end of our holidays.. It's back to school tomorrow! I r looking forward to my Animal Care and Management subject.. Just hope it's enjoyable and not as tough as AAP!

I just read an entry from a friend's blog. Been long since I've seen her but it's heart-warming to know that she misses the old days as much as I do.
Though they might say Poly's not as stressed as JC, I have my fair share of stress too. Poly's not just a bed of roses like most JC people might think. I miss my JC days very muchly as she puts it "no smell of dark room, no more finepix camera, no more attendance book, no more garang garbo". No more this and that. No more grey and blue.
The one who got the scholarship flew off to Australia; it would be probably a year before I see her again. I miss her poking my ahbu and making funny remarks about my dress-sense. The three guys got into army and everytime we gather they would talk about unknown terms and internal jokes. Girls are in university with their ever-busy lives and holidays that never seem to tie-in with mine.
Yes, the grey and blue crowd of 11 can never get back together with the same feelings again.
CCA is still photography but it's different now. It's grey and blue no more; it's black and orange now.
Like Alfred said the other day, it makes you wonder if two years down the road would we be crying over the time we could never go back to?
Time passes, people change.
Same people, but never the same.

Kairos is an ancient word to describe "the right moment'.. I usually like to shoot planned portraits but this time at FOC 08 I'm glad I managed to capture some of those great moments..

As with all performances, there is one character that always stands out.. This Indian guy is so classic lahz.. I laughed my toes off..
Jam and Hop was quite a disappointment since the lights were ON.. I guess it was to prevent grinding (but nevertheless it still happened).. Plus, the lights were an advantage to us photographers..
Dickson taught me this new method of panning which worked really well for photos during Jam and Hop.. Really showed the movement and enthusiasm during the session..
Alvin, I bet his moobs are bigger than yours.. LOL

I totally love this picture; one of my best.. I actually wanted to convert this photo into black and white but I thought the colour contrast is already good enough.. What do you think?

Many things happened during the 2D1N I stayed overnight at the Cyber Centre for this event.. Due to my CG project, I missed out 4 days of the event.. Thanks to Alfred who organised his treasure hunt during the night I stayovered.. Your photos are indeed abstract! LAWL! So glad my group was able to find all except one of the locations..

No matter which institution I am in, I always have closer friends from my CCAs than from my class.. Guess with academic competition put aside, we are bonded together with common interest.. It's the people that made me love my CCAs- Inno, PS, VC.. Since we all enjoy our CCAs so much, shouldn't we open up our social circles and be more accepting towards people who share the same interests as us?
Lastly, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the ComfortDelgo taxi driver for driving down all the way from his house in Pasir Ris to CCK early this morning to return me my phone which I left in his taxi.. Yesh, I nearly lost my phone again.. I didn't even realised I lost it till he called in the morning to ask if I had lost it.. Ahbu is THAT blur..
