A Leap Through TimeThis is a nice movie and I know it'll be with me for a long time.. i love it!! the art is sooo good!! comparable to BLOOD+'s art.. the girl (Makoto) is sooo much like Saya, especially when she leaps.. It looked like Saya when she did high jumps in the first episode.. the first time i saw the advertisement, i still thought it was Saya..
when the movie started, the male lead appeared.. and guess what? he had an orange singlet with a white school shirt.. KAI!!! OMG!! looks so much like Kai from BLOOD+!!! only much cooler and less wimpy.. i LOVE his attitude!! it's typical bad-boy lahz.. but i like the way he's protective of Makoto and the way he's jokingly teasing her.. Chiaki's his name.. from the start i wanted her to end up with him instead of Kousuke..

at first i thought the 2 guys are gonna fall for that one girl but it didn't turn out that way..
anyway, back into the main plot.. Time waits for no one, and yet she can change time.. Makoto accidentally acquired the power to travel through time.. incidentally to leap to travel.. initially, she didn't realise there was a limit to her time leaping and used it for trivial stuff like TO EAT A PUDDING!!! subsequently, she used it to correct things or to get things she didn't manage to secure.. but as she gains some she loses some..
the part where she tried to help in mending relationships and her awfully bad luck was funny.. besides the repeated dialog (duh, she travels back in time! of coz some of the dialogs are the same) and the redundant scenes of buying time (especially when you know something important was gonna be revealed), the whole movie is nice and sweet!
oh and i like Makoto's sister.. she's clingy.. literally..
there was an unexpected twist towards the rear.. though the ending is not so perfect (that was what me and yuning were uuurrggghhh/arrrggghh-ing about), the scene where Chiaki turned back to hug a crying Makoto was sweet.. (aarrgggghhh!!! they should have confessed in the last scene!!! maybe Chiaki would not have left!!!) but i still don't get the link between Chiaki and the painting..
for a moment, i thought they would kiss..
anyway, i like the whole idea of friendship in this movie.. 2 guys surrounding one girl.. as
friends.. like the situation i often find myself in.. not the typical single sex kinda clique hur? ya i'm just odd.. ostaf might be right about me turning into a guy by hanging out too much with them.. hahax.. but i like it this way.. like how Makoto would like it..

ZOO!I should have posted this entry long ago but you guys know this weird habit of mine of not posting any entry till my photos are ready..
so A7K1 made a trip to the zoo on monday.. the rest met at AMK while beng, bing cong, TK, Kaveen and I met at CCK, simply because it's nearer for us.. Reached the zoo at around 9am to receive a call from the AMK gang that they were waiting for bing cong! wait a minute, wasn't bing cong with us? lol.. beng made a mistake by telling the AMK gang that bing cong is gonna meet them there! hahax.. so we waited around half an hour for the AMK gang to arrive before purchasing tickets and going in..

First were the otters.. spent lotsa time there and we managed to watch the feeding too! so lucky! the little ones are cute too! managed to capture a few good shots..

because shermaine worked in the zoo before, she got to know one of the zookeepers there who brought us into a restricted area.. gotta see the behind the scenes of the zoo.. there were breeding areas for insects and creepy-crawlies of the fragile forest!

had lunch at KFC at the children's zoo.. some of us relived our childhood by joining the real children at the playground..
but they were warned by this uncle who said that the bridge might break under their weight >-<
it seems that the white tiger is not in the cat country.. so i explored around while some others went to watch the Animal Safari show..
and yesh! i found the white tigers!! bearing in mind that hp (she's gonna get all excited seeing these photos again) asked me to shoot her favourite white tigers, i spent around half an hour there.. >-<

found an interesting fact about the ecological system at the white tiger enclosure.. the tiger in the water actually poos in the water.. (we saw the poo and all..) then the fishes in the water will follow it and RUSH to EAT ITS POO!! what a great way to get rid of biological waste without causing harm to the environment.. LOL!!
next we headed back to the visitors' wing of the fragile forest.. the lemurs are not afraid of human contact and can actually come very close! if you don't know what are lemurs, try to remember the black and white creature from the movie Madagascar which dance and sing:"I'd like'd move it move it..."

we only left the zoo when it's about to close at 6pm.. imagine an entire day from 9am to 6pm at the zoo!! it actually didn't feel that long to me.. i really had a great time shooting and enjoying the zoo.. the pictures turned out good too and i received good comments.. but sorry to the rest of the class who spent lotsa time waiting for me while i shot.. the $15 entrance fee was soo worth it!! i don't mind going again.. =)

more pics can be found at my Picasa =)oh recently bought my dream lens! 70-200mm f4L IS at $1600.. which was a good deal considering that it's selling at $1800.. swiftwing alerted me to a second hand seller on CS, so i couldn't help jumping at it.. though it's second hand, it's as good as new as it's only less than a month's old.. the owner wanted to sell it coz he upgraded to a 70-200mm f2.8.. with that new lens in my collection, i'm an official member of the L (lens) club.. lol.. it certainly burned a huge hole in my pocket..

SAVE ME FROM YUNING!!!!i think this entry would appeal to zx the most..
had a stay over at yuning's house last night because we wanted an anime-marathon.. and i tell you it was hell.. ahbu was being tortured by yuning..
we first had a badminton match at the Hougang Stadium, which i lost every single round.. i was simply too lazy to catch her balls which were always across the court from where i was standing.. but well, at least fat ahbu had some exercise..
after badminton, we bathed and had dinner.. her grandmother cooked his BIG plate of vegetables lahz.. of course, knowing yuning she'll NEVER eat it so i had to finish it.. after so many rounds of vege-eating at home, i'm not surprised that i was able to finish it.. but her grandmother was clearly surprised..
after that was anime time!!! we started with Jigoku Shoujo which i sorta regretted.. even though a certain character was just standing there doing nothing, yuning would just GRAB me like there's no tomorrow.. it was worse with Jigoku Season 2.. i was surprised i didn't fall off the bed and that i survived.. thank god, we watched it at night when she couldn't scream or shriek whenever HE appears.. -.-"
i had a little break watching the last episode of Planet Earth.. the deep sea is so amazing that i wouldn't mind being a marine biologist if being with ahbus doesn't work out..
when we were done with Jigoku (from which i suffered multiple scratches from the exasperated being beside me), we moved on to Ghost Hunt!! it's great watching horror animes in the dark.. i could just hide behind my ninja bolster if yuning tried to scare me.. hehe..
half way through, yuning watched BFB on Channel U at 1am.. Show+Jolin on the show.. you could guess what happened to poor ahbu..
after finishing 2 more episodes of Ghost Hunt, we decided we had enough and went to sleep though we very much wanted to watch BLOOD+ (which i would suffer another round of attacks due to appearances of another seemingly dashing character) but that would have to wait till 30th June when 09/05 is coming to my house for a bbq.. was quite surprised that Jesie Peh(go) would actually organise this.. well, cya then..

MY FIRST DEAL!!!i finally clinched my first sales today! yesterday was so sad coz i didn't manage to clinch any despite finishing the whole block.. ok, i can see question marks raising from your heads.. i'm currently working as a Starhub Cable TV door-to-door promoter.. working from 7pm to 10pm (so i can also work during my slack school term.. lol..) almost every night so prolly i wouldn't be online.. Cable TV is really cheap now ($18.90/mth!!) do contact me if you wanna sign up! quick before the GST rise!!!
the reason why i am only updating today is bcoz i have been very very busy lately..
friday and saturday was our course camp.. though it was compulsory, only 26 of us turned up.. but there was nothing interesting about the camp except for the BBQ and the FREE TIME!! LOL! coz those were the times where we are free to do whatever we want with NO SEMINARS OR WORKSHOPS!!!! during the BBQ, the boys sang like a choir with their MP3s blasting.. LOL!! damn nice! i practically fed the boys only coz they kept complaining they weren't full.. but in the end still left 1 packet of chicken wings and stingray (coz not enough charcoal).. leave it for the BBQ at hinho's on friday ba! and i discovered that BBQ mushrooms can be soooo nice!!!
BBQ ended at 12am.. the boys and gals are supposed to be on separate floors budden jomer found these 4 classrooms with their partitions parted.. so EVERYONE squeeze together!!! played mahjiong with some of the guys till like 3am.. damn addictive sia.. i won 3 times outta 6.. hehex.. the boys sucked! me and valerie won everything!! muhahaha.. mr jomer kept coming in to remind us to sleep and that we hafda wake up at 7am the next day.. but we still play lol! after that was ghost telling session in the dark! me fiona and the 6 guys shared ghost stories.. i of course told the army stories my army buddies told me.. but i guess everyone is too sleepy to be freaked out.. we finally fell alsleep at 5am.. with beng and bing cong at the girls' side of the classroom.. hahax.. mr jomer even "thanked" us for keeping him awake till 5am during the debrief.. hahax..
after that sleepless night, i went home at 5pm, slept at 930pm after watching 神雕侠侣 but woke up at 7am the next morning to go to Mutts and Mittens for their adoption drive.. yijun came with me too! ^-^

Streetfest 2007in the midst of term test, i rushed down to *scape:Youthpark to shoot this event on sunday.. it's partly xuan's fault coz he wanted to 大开眼界 and i couldn't resist the temptation to bring my 400D down..
it was freaking HOT at 1pm (about the time the cosplay event starts)!! even though i wore sleeveless, i was drenched in sweat.. and i very much pity this guy..

it was a satisfying shoot though i neglected xuan a lot coz i was shooting but he was just watching and waiting for me to finish shooting.. at first, i thought Sherman could keep him accompany but he had to run off to the IT fair.. so we only stayed for around 2 hours.. partly because it was freaking hot and there weren't many cosplyers (bcoz it's freaking hot to wear their costumes in the sun)..
but i could see that xuan was amused by a certain cross-dressing.. he couldn't even guess that she's a HE!! hahax.. he even added that if he sees her/him alone along a dark alley he would bashed him/her up! disgrace of all men i think.. i'm sorry i don't have a photo of him/her coz i seriously don't wanna spoil my precious camera.. if you really wanna see how he/she looks like, ask me for her/his blog..

A7K1 went to Mutts and Mittens yesterday to prepare for their adoption drive.. the rest of the class had clipboards and pens while i had my beloved 400D.. =) yesh, that's my job.. hehex.. was glad that qing xiang could come! he's experienced with cat photography mianz! while this is my first take at animal photography..
before i list out some of the cats and dogs up for adoption, i would like to show you this cute golden retriver puppy (it has a owner btw)..

a little history about Mutts and Mittens and the animals there.. MnM is actually a boarding home for dogs and cats.. (you know a place to send your pets when you are on holiday..) but some of the "Short Term Boarding" turned into "Long Term Boarding".. it quite sad to know that you are actually there on vacation but to be left there permanently.. an example is this black dog with a Pikachu soft-toy as his companion.. he was so sad-looking!!!! =( but of course, many owners may be forced to abandon them.. it's wiser to leave them at MnM than on the streets of course.. but MnM do pick up abused pets on the streets.. (hence, most dogs are mongrels but they do have pure breeds like Rottweilers and a Great Dane) and i do agree that they have good care for them till they are finally adopted.. =)
ok now the kitties first! i bet qing xiang has better photos than these.. there are 3 kitties but one of them is more reserved so i only managed to catch 2..

now the cats.. it was very difficult shooting the cats especially when they were all crowded at your feet.. Beng was right.. once you enter the cattery, they would immediately be rubbing against your legs.. it's so difficult to shoot when your subjects are so close at your feet.. i was literally moving around in balls of fur..

A rather old dog. Actually, she already a grandmother of 2 other full grown dogs! But nevertheless, she still has the energy of a young pup.

I forgot his name but i decided to call him Bow-Wow coz he looks like the bull-terrier. The scars on his snort are result from previous fights before he was rescued.

He's in no way realted to Mummy. It's just that he's an alpha dog and takes good care of the other 2 sharing the same cage as him.

Our class favourite dog coz she's so friendly. And she lunged for my camera once she saw it lahz. OMG! Luckily she didn't aim for the lens.. i wonder why she's camera shy.. hahax..
